Barring any new Covid-19 restrictions, the Northeast Piedmont Chorale plans to resume rehearsing and performing. Rehearsals resume on Monday, January 10, 2022, in preparation for concert performances on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh and Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center in Henderson.

The rehearsals that start in January mark the first time the Chorale has met in person since March 9, 2020, when the pandemic led to the cancellation of the Spring 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 seasons. Since the pandemic began, the Chorale’s board of directors has been meeting virtually each month to plan for a new singing season and to monitor reports from medical experts to learn when it would be safe to sing together again.

Rehearsals will take place Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Wake Forest Baptist Church, and our members cannot wait to begin singing together again.

The theme for the spring concert series is “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” when we will finally have an opportunity to perform the concerts originally planned for Spring 2020. New Hope Baptist Church is located on 4310 Louisburg Road in Raleigh. The McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center is on 201 Breckenridge Street in Henderson.

Both concerts are free to the public and will last about an hour.
