About Us
The Northeast Piedmont Chorale (NPC) is a non-profit, non-sectarian, volunteer organization whose mission is to perform fine choral music for residents of the Northeast Piedmont area of North Carolina at no charge. Members of the chorale come from Raleigh, Wake Forest, Louisburg, Henderson, Oxford and southern Virginia.
The Chorale performs for hundreds of community residents each season and relies on the generous support of corporate and individual contributors, local arts councils, member dues, fundraising activities, concert contributions and the public in general to enable the Chorale to continue performing free concerts. The Northeast Piedmont Chorale performs two concert series each season. One of these is in the fall and the other in the spring. There are two individual concerts in each concert series, and at least one of these concerts is typically performed with an orchestra.
Chorale Members Lifting Voices Again The Northeast Piedmont Chorale joined choirs worldwide in exercising caution to keep our members and audiences safe during the pandemic caused by the spread of COVID-19. We suspended our rehearsals early in March 2020, and our 2020 and 2021 concerts were cancelled. Our Board of Directors was very busy during this time, meeting regularly through teleconferences to discuss when it will be safe for us to resume rehearsals and plan our next events. The singing resumed with the first rehearsal of the Spring season in February 2022 with concerts planned for April 29 and May 1.
