A Message from Our Board — November/December 2021

The Northeast Piedmont Chorale Board is pleased to announce that rehearsals will begin on Monday, January 10, 2022 (Editor’s Note: A Jan. 3, 2022, update moves the start date to Monday, February 7, 2022). Rehearsals will take place Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Wake Forest Baptist Church. All Chorale members will be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination on the first day of rehearsal. In the next two months, the board will be monitoring what medical experts advise about wearing masks during rehearsals and will decide whether to require face coverings during rehearsals. In the meantime, we are preparing to begin a new season after a very long absence.

This spring, the Chorale will perform two concerts. The first concert will take place at New Hope Baptist Church, 4301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC, on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. The second concert will take place at McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center, 201 Breckenridge Street, Henderson, NC, on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 3 p.m. All concerts are free to the public.

We hope you will join us for what promises to be an exciting and heartfelt concert season. With the theme, “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” our spring concerts, accompanied by piano and orchestra, will combine our nation’s most beloved and endearing anthems, such as America the Beautiful and God Bless America, with America’s history in songs like the musical rendition of The Gettysburg Address and When Johnny Comes Marching Home. In addition to these moving patriotic songs, the Chorale will sing a variety of light-hearted folk songs, such as Shady Grove and the much-loved Cindy. We know you will be tapping your feet, clapping your hands, and singing along with the Chorale throughout the concert.

Keep watching this site for further updates on the much anticipated spring season.
