NPC held a very successful Yard Sale on Saturday, March 3, 2018 on the grounds of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Wake Forest. Thanks to all of the members, friends and neighbors who generously donated their previous “treasures” NPC raised $1,427.11; and the patrons who purchased the goods have new and gently used items that they may treasure. The Bake Sale table was a hit too as NPC members donated homemade cakes, muffins, cookies and brownies which went quickly. Despite the high winds that day, we managed to sell lots of furniture, paintings, towels, sheets, tablecloths, books, sporting goods, and ceramic items. It also afforded an opportunity for us to give back as someone purchased hundreds of dollars’ worth of clothing for only $40.00 to give to a local shelter. Remaining items were taken to the Habitat for Humanity Restore and to Goodwill.
Although the Yard Sale was from 8:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m., dedicated singers brought donations beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2nd and still other NPC members arrived as early as 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, to organize the tables and set out the hundreds of items for sale! Luckily, we benefitted from donated coffee courtesy of the Packhouse Coffee Company in Youngsville which helped to keep us warm and to keep our tired eyes open! The Yard Sale was a productive fundraiser in every aspect.
