The Northeast Piedmont Chorale Board is pleased to announce that rehearsals will begin on Monday, September 13, 2021, barring any new restrictions from the CDC. Rehearsals will take place Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Wake Forest Baptist Church, and our members cannot wait to begin singing together again.

The theme of our December concert season is “Rejoice!” The Chorale is excited to be performing great traditional carols like “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and “Deck the Halls” arranged by choral greats Dan Forrest and Mack Wilberg. The Chorale will also offer several multi-cultural songs — one that won a Grammy from a video game that is translated from the words of the Lord’s Prayer (yes, you read that correctly!). As has become our trademark, our program has something for everyone ranging from the a cappella beauty of a couple of Alfred Burt carols to the splendor of “Sleigh Ride.” How exciting it is going to be for all of us to lift our voices together again with stunning accompaniment from our orchestra and piano!

We have selected venues and dates for our December concert season, and we are in the process of working with these venues to finalize a date for each of our concerts.  Our hope is to hold our concerts during the first weekend in December. When we have confirmation of the specific dates and venues, we will share them on our website.

Spring rehearsals will begin on January 10, 2022.  While we have set a tentative date for our spring concert season as the second weekend in May, we are awaiting confirmation of these dates from our chosen venues. The theme for our spring concert is “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” when we will finally have the opportunity to perform the concert originally planned for spring of 2020.

Throughout the summer, our board will continue meeting monthly to prepare for a new singing season.  As we receive updated information, we will publish it here, so keep checking back each month to learn what is new for the Northeast Piedmont Chorale.
